Volunteering & bushcare

Join the team restoring grey-headed flying-fox habitat in the Gordon valley.

We are always looking for new faces to join our Bushcare team in the Ku-ring-gai Flying-fox Reserve. No experience is needed and on-site training is provided. The reserve is a beautiful gully forest along Stoney Creek in Gordon, walkable from Gordon station, and our work restores the canopy and rainforest species that grey-headed flying-foxes depend on.

Volunteers work in the reserve on most Tuesday mornings. Come and try it for a day, or stay for the season — you would be very welcome.

  • Gain experience in native plant and weed identification and revegetation
  • Spend the morning outdoors among trees, birds and the occasional wallaby
