Three people looking out over a large flying-fox camp roosting in the trees at dusk
Watching the flying-fox camp at dusk, December 2019

Meeting a live flying-fox is the best way to dispel the myths about bats. Our volunteer education team has been giving talks with unreleasable flying-foxes since 1985. In this section you will find activities for children, videos, posters and resources, useful links, and recordings of what bats actually sound like.

The education flying-foxes are cared for at Walkabout Wildlife Sanctuary at Calga, NSW. Your donations to the Ku-ring-gai Bat Conservation Society support these flying-foxes.
