Your gift helps protect Sydney's flying-foxes and the forests that depend on them.

Make a difference

The Ku-ring-gai Bat Conservation Society is a registered charity and endorsed Deductible Gift Recipient, so donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible. Your gift funds our Ed Bats education team, habitat restoration in the Ku-ring-gai Flying-fox Reserve, and research into Australia's bats. We are all volunteers, so it goes straight to the work.

Flying-foxes carry pollen and seed further than any other pollinator in Australia. Protecting one camp helps a forest hundreds of kilometres away.

Bequest

Consider leaving a gift to the Ku-ring-gai Bat Conservation Society in your will. A bequest is a lasting way to make sure the flying-foxes of the Gordon valley are still there for the generations who come after us. Please contact us for more information.

What your donation supports

A researcher studying flying-foxes

Ed Bats education

Our volunteer Ed Bats team takes live-animal education to schools and community groups — your gift keeps it flying.

Habitat restoration

Donations pay for plantings and wallaby-exclusion fencing that bring native bushland back to the Ku-ring-gai Flying-fox Reserve.

Research

We fund research into Australia's bats — their biology, ecology and importance to our forests — to guide better conservation.

About the Gift Fund

The KBCS Gift Fund was established in 1998. It is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission and endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as a Deductible Gift Recipient. The KBCS Gift Fund Committee meets at least twice a year to approve how the funds are spent, and ensures donations are recorded, receipted and banked into a separate account, that a statement is presented each year at the KBCS AGM, and that an annual statement is submitted to the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.
